On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we proudly launched “Women in Parliament: Celebrating Women in Action” — an initiative to honor the trailblazing women who are shaping Nepal’s democracy. These leaders are not only holding positions of power but also challenging societal norms, pushing for progressive reforms, and paving the way for future generations.
From Parliament halls to grassroots movements, women in Nepal are breaking barriers and driving change. But leadership is not just about titles or authority — it’s about the courage to stand tall, speak up, and create space for others to rise. As an organization that continuously advocates for inclusive governance, we recognize that the journey toward equality is long and filled with systemic hurdles. Yet, this moment—where five parliamentary committees are being led by five women leaders—is worth celebrating, amplifying, and learning from.
This March, we dedicated our platform to honor five fearless parliamentarians who are leading five vital committees across the National Assembly and House of Representatives:
- Hon. Tulsa Kumari Dahal – Chair of the Legislative Management Committee
- Hon. Ishwori Devi Neupane – Chair of Nepal’s Parliamentary Hearing Committee
- Hon. Kamala Devi Panta – Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance
- Hon. Bimala Subedi – Chair of the Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee
- Hon. Kusum Devi Thapa – Chair of the Agriculture, Cooperative, and Natural Resources Committee
These women are fearless and unstoppable. With resilience and commitment, they are transforming spaces that were historically male-dominated. Their work spans legal reforms, economic development, social justice, and accountability — shaping Nepal’s legislative future with empathy, strength, and vision.
Let us celebrate these women not only for where they are but for how they got there. Their stories are powerful reminders that real leadership lies in persistence, integrity, and the will to challenge the status quo.
We salute the Women in Parliament — representing citizens, promoting equity, and making governance more inclusive.
Their journeys are a call to all next generation young women across the country:
Lead with purpose. Challenge the norms. Own your power.
Watch our exclusive conversation with these incredible leaders as they share their personal journeys, struggles, victories, and what it truly means to lead as a woman in Nepal’s political landscape.
