Among the many young people dreaming of moving abroad for work and higher education, I have always imagined staying in Nepal and doing something meaningful here. Yet it often felt frustrating to see our country’s political instability and hectic service delivery. Having grown up hearing “politics is a dirty game” from so many, I stayed away from news, content, and incidents related to politics, law, and governance. But as time passed and I learned more, I realized that it is our duty as citizens to stay informed about the rules, laws, and decisions that shape our country’s future and so do our lives. So I began studying Nepal’s laws, regulations, and parliamentary processes. It wasn’t easy reading long documents full of legal jargon. It felt boring, difficult, and time-consuming.
By recognizing this barrier, I decided to create something that would make civic information clear and engaging for youth like us. That’s how ‘Inside the House with Sadiksha’ began. This civic-literacy video series opens the doors of Nepal’s Parliament to our audiences, especially Tanneris, transforming complex procedures into simple, relatable stories. We show what Parliament is, how a bill becomes law, what Members of Parliament really do, how parliamentary committees work behind the scenes and many more insights into everything going on inside the House.
‘Inside The House’ bridges the gap between governance and the governed, promoting transparency, education, and public engagement in our democracy. Through careful research, clear storytelling, and thoughtful presentation, the series aims to inspire young Nepalese to care about what happens in Parliament and to take part in shaping our country’s future.
